Absolutely superb. Avoided it for ages because I thought that it looked like an average teen comedy/chick flick. But very intellegently written and moving. |

It features truly incredible dialogue. I don't think it sounded like realistic teenage lingo, but it was fantastic nevertheless. |

Any film that has the main character shout "Thundercats are Go" when her waters break is okay with me. |

I saw it and thought it was brilliant, one of my favourite films of last year. |

I liked the script a whole lot. Weird thing is, some of very the things I liked in the script, I didn't end up liking in the executed film. In the case of the read, it felt fresh and funny. It seemed inspired in that special way that you know the writer is drawing on personal experience, but with the added bonus of a whit of hindsight. In the case of the film though, those very same lines came across as if they were trying too hard to be clever. A sort of mono-chromatic sarcasm. And Ellen's one note delivery just started grating, for me. Still I did laugh. |

The lead in this film made a startling debut in the fantastic and controversial 'Hard Candy'. |

Yeah, I liked her in that. But again, found her one note. She's Canadian, so my people are really fond of her - excited by how far she's going. But I find her very limited. Sarcasm really seems to be her thing. |
