Is it facetious to email Walkers sensations customer line to ask if, when they say sensations are made with real ingredients, they think other crisps are made with imaginary potatoes?

There's an ad running here in soCal, for some injury lawyer group - you know, you've been hurt, need to sue right away, etc. The ad ends with a "testimonial" from a client: "... And they're not just lawyers - they're human-beings." |

Seems a fair question. Surely everything's an ingredient, even if the ingredient is 'artificial flavouring' or somesuch. |

Yes, John, but are lawyers human beings? <snark> |

I did email Wlakers and got a very dry and corporate response about not using MSG etc. So I replied saying "Yes but even MSG is real, I haven't imagined it all these years". They replied to say my comments had been passed on to their marketing team. I wasn't happy with that, so I sent the following letter to the ITV and BBC teletext whinging letters pages. "It says on every pack of Walkers Sensations that they are now made from REAL ingredients! Does this mean that they have previously been using imaginary potatoes, flavouring them with pretend paprika and frying them in fictional fat? Brothers and sisters in pedantry, this is a call to arms! We all need to find out what make believe morsels they've been forcing down our throats with the old style Sensations!!!" Aside from taking out the name of the crisps, the BBC printed it word for word yesterday. Hopefully ITV will have done the same today. (P145 on BBC (not digital) till 4 o'clock - P318 ITV). Amazing what amuses me when I'm bored. |

Gary Linekar must be quaking in his boots. Well, that's all he ever did in an England shirt. |

I'd be so proud if they changed the wording on the packs to "Natural" just because of me telling people to email them with a stupid question. |
