Anyone seriously up for this? I can do a weekend, maybe a Fri night stay, or a Saturday. A hostel might be nice; we could hijack their dvd player... Or would it be weird and tense? |

It'd have to be weird and tense, Tony - otherwise where's the fun? |

I'd like to meet people at a convention first before I spend the night in the same room as them! |

Not the same room, Griff! Oh, yeah - hostels. It would have to be, wouldn't it? I don't know why but the idea of conventions petrifies me. I've found out I'm actually anxious about meeting authors. |

I've had some dodgey experiences in YHA hostels, well the one in Cardiff! Panting men prowling about at night. In their pants. Big smelly Y-fronts. |

I've found out I'm actually anxious about meeting authors. You don't have to talk to any of them if you don't want to - they're usually quite human though, with a very few exceptions! Most attendees are a pretty welcoming bunch too. |

Let me upgrade my view; I have no longer any wish to meet an author I admire. The crush you feel when you realise they might think you a fool is too behemothly vast to accommodate. |

Nah - just walk up to any author, slap 'em around a bit and say "Oi! I buy your books, you bastard! Give me some respect. Now"! Failing that, offer to buy them a drink. Works every time. |
