These as the description on the link will attest to are some of the unintentionally funniest trailers you ever likely to see; Lady Frankenstein, Beyond The Door, The Night Child, Beyond Darkness...absolutely hilarious, yet strangely make me want to hunt down the films...I feel like something brain numbingly stupid to watch:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4ndzUPNDHU |

Beyond the Door is great fun - I saw it this year after wanting to since I was a kid. |

BTD looks utterly hilarious. But unlike you, Zed, I must admit to never having heard of it. BTW: I've never seen Ghost Story, the adaptation, with Bing Crosby, is that correct (must check Wikipedia). Is it as bad as some people claim? I'm thinking of getting it (if possible) because I'm halfway through the book at present. |

We talk about the Ghost Story film at least once a year on here, so if you do a search you'll probably find a lot of comments. Bottom line, though: it's part pants, part not too bad. Totally disembowels the novel, though, and simply uses the core story of the old men - leaving out all the lovely myth-making stuff that Straub layers into his book. |

Really, that's not good. Still, I will probably check it out after I've finished with the book. Cheers. How's the washing line? And no, that's not a reference to you and Fry performing your own version of 'the clothesline' in a spin-off WWF wrestling match. |

Those are brilliant fun! Took me a moment to realise you meant beyond a plain old door and not a green one, though. |

Ah the Green door… with all those trapezes… [sighs] The trailer for the 1941 version of The Wolf Man is pretty lame. Granted, so's the film, so it's apt. Head here for that: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1911947545/ The fun starts 1/2-way in, just prior to the full minute. Zed, you're going all 'pants' again! What's with 'pants'? Clearly it means "bad", but... WHY? Why are pants bad? I like wearing undergarments! Am I unique? |

Why are pants bad? I like wearing undergarments! Am I unique? Well now I'm confused. Are pants "undergarments" in the U.K.? Er, assuming, as I am - I mean, is Ian even in the U.K.? And then if he's not... why not?... |

I live in Metro Vancouver, Canada, site of the recent Winter Olympics, location of filming of the X-Files, and one of the only places in Canada which doesn't experience winter at all (except in the mountains, which is where the skiing was done). Why am I not in the UK? Damned good question, Craig; damned good question. "Pants", traditionally anyway, are considered in the UK to be a term for "underpants". The things you wear to cover your legs are "trousers". Hence, if a someone asks you "what do you think of my pants?" you should either be shocked or immediately horny (presuming you find them attractive, or you're as desperate as Joel makes himself out to be most of the time). So... there you are, probably more confused now than you were before, but it's nearly 11:00 pm here now and I'm on my third glass of red wine, so I can't be arsed to sort out anything more clearly than that. |

Pants are trousers. They are NOT undergarments. Here in the U.K. we believe undergarments to be wasteful and impure. We DO not wear undergarments, but skids, boxers or ride bareback. This is 100% genuine. This is NOT a windup. Pants (teenage slang derivation = bad/shit/not kosher/crap, etc). I have spoken. Now go forth and prosper little ones. |

All semi-fuzzily clear now, thank you. I saw GHOST STORY years ago on TV, and remember very little. A scene sticks out of a ghost woman following some old guy in the snow. Lots of old folks in the movie. And Fred Astaire, not dancing. |
