I just read 'The Pier' - really enjoyed it. Campbellian in all the right ways, with a suitably suggestive, well judged ending.

Now to see if the good Lord can top it . . .

Golly, Lordie, that's pretty damned nasty. That last line . . . Right near the knuckle. Strong tale.

Just realised the significance of the title, too. I wrote a tale called 'It Can Also End At Home'. Great minds, eh? :-)

Hey, thanks a lot, Gary! That's made my day. (I've got a head full of post-Fcon bugs, so you've really cheered me up.) **sniffle**

And yeah, that's possibly the nastiest and most unapologetically Birkin-esque I've ever seen JLP get. But I love it!

There are only a few pages left in the Landlord's latest and then it's up the canted steps with me!

Thanks for that GF! I'm still quite surprised by how very nasty my story in there is, and it's the first story I've ever felt slightly uncomfortable reading out loud, but I think I told you the background as to how it got written

Nasty is how we like em, squire. Keep em coming. I'll read Wicked Delights asap. Already read the intro and afterwords - entertaining, as usual. :-)

Btw, Kate, couldn't you have read Hutson or someone before reading my novel? How the hell am I supposed to follow that Campbell geezer? :-)
