The first two chapters of Brian Evenson's amazing forthcoming novel 'Last Days' are available online from the underland Press website.
The cover is by yours truly. My debut book cover. Huzzah!

Super cover, Karim.

Hadn't realized this book had anything to do with the "Brotherhood of Mutilation" book. Is this a sequel or an expansion, do you know?

Thanks Chris! It is a continuation. Roughly the first 35% is the Earthling novella 'The Brotherhood of Mutilation', the rest of it is all new and just as amazing.

And I thought I'd post some additional concept art.

That image puts me in mind of the amazing story MORE TOMORROW by Michael Marshall Smith.

Zed- the MMS story did in fact come to mind when I worked on this project- I reread the story again quite recently and I was surprised how much the story leaves to the reader's imagination- which is great. I do also like the more aggravating approach.

Tony: The image is a construction of three different girls assembled in post production.

And there's an intro by Peter Straub.

And a final image from me.

Started reading this today - it's absolutely effing brilliant. I'm in awe of what Evenson is able to achieve with such sparse prose.

One thing - best to read Peter Straub's introduction at the end, because it's very spoilerish (at least the bits I read, before stopping and deciding to treat it as an afterword).

The same happened when Straub wrote the intro for a Sandman graphic novel, they slipped the intro in the back because there were too many spoilers! :-) Still waiting for my copies to be shipped so I haven't read the Straub intro yet. Underland are only shipping to the States from their website I see.

Last Days is the book of the month in Fangoria. Kind of cool to have artwork in Fangoria for the first time somehow. Copies of the limited are still available from Underland Press.
