Despite having stubbornly resisted for years, my partner forced me to watch Star Wars episode 3 (Sith) last night...and I really enjoyed it! Vader's transformation was pretty powerful, even for one who just missed out on the whole hullabaloo the first time round (1978?). | ||

It's a good episode with some powerful moments, e.g. the execution of Order 66. The duel is a trifle overlong imho, and R2D2 and C3PO have virtually been excised from the script. Ian Mc Diarmid is great! He steals the film. If you haven't seen any of the other episodes, I envy you. It's a great story. | ||

It's probably the only one of the prequels you need. Pretty much everything that has any bearing on the original trilogy happens in that one. There's still some horribly clunky moments - the relationship scenes are still stunted and unbelievable, and Vader's final 'NOOOOOOOOOOO' is slightly embarassing. But it has its thrilling moments and is wonderfully grim at times. | ||

I didn't expect the third one to be that good. I hated the previous two, then he caught me off guard on the third one. I liked the pod racer scene in the first one. I thought it was brilliant. But the rest of the film didn't appear to be made with as much care. The second one I almost walked out of. Someone gave me a ticket for the third one, and I was really impressed with it. |
