I think I'm safe to announce this now, so here goes: I'm delighted to say that Stephen Jones has selected my story "Pumpkin Night" to appear in THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF BEST NEW HORROR #19. This has kind of rocked my world; I buy the book every single year, and it's going to be a truly surreal moment when I see my name in the table of contents. Ta, mate. It's out in the Autumn, I think. You never buy it? I receieve it as a gift every Christmas (previously from my mother, and now from the wife). Some of the editor's choices I agree with; others I don't. But I always get hold of a copy. It's essential reading in my house. | ||

Great news, Zed - well done! My good friend Simon (not Mr. Stranzas, who also has a story to appear in this anthology, I believe, but another Simon) emailed me a couple of days ago in much excitement to share the news that he, too, had a story chosen by Steve Jones for Best New Horror. It seems just about everyone I know on the internet is going to be in it. Best New Horror is the one annual horror anthology I buy without fail, and this year's edition promises to be better than ever. | ||
