Recently read Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Long Way Home. A comic by Joss Whedon continuing Buffy's adventures after the TV show ended. Obviously feels a bit different to the telly version but it's still jolly good fun. Lots of action, quips and plot twists. And so far it's avoiding the overly-angsty feel that alienated some Buffy fans in the later seasons. |

My friend (she's a huge Buffy fan) sent me this for Christmas. Although I'd still prefer a new TV series, I liked LONG WAY HOME - as you said, there's lots of the usual clever dialogue and twists; it really succeeds in capturing the feel of the early Buffys. Have you read FRAY, Stu? |

I have a season four of Buffy, but my disc four is kaput, to quote Hitler. Anyone know how to do anything about this? |

No, I've not read FRAY. I keep forgetting about that one. (FRAY is the futuristic story of the last Slayer in case anyone is wondering.) I am however reading Whedon's work on ASTONISHING X-MEN. Volume 4 should be out soon. |

I just bought the first comic of season 8. Haven't read it yet though, so no spoilers, please. Looking forward to it all the more after these posts though... |

Buffy the Vampire Slayer! You'll be taking part in live-action-role-playing next, dressed up as an ickle elf! |

I'm not a fan of comics or 'graphic novels', but I'm going to have to give this a go, I think... |

Finally got round to buying a copy of FRAY. Not bad but not as much fun as BUFFY. Probably at least due to the fact that Whedon has to establish the new characters and their sci-fi future world whereas he assumes that anyone who's buying a Buffy comic is already familiar with the TV show so he just goes straight into the story without any preamble. That said, I did feel that Buffy and the Scoobies are more interesting than Melaka Fray and her supporting cast. In FRAY most characters had one big defining personality trait or Big Secret and that was it. Not really much light and shade to their characters. Still, the book's not bad. |

Read the Faith-centric NO FUTURE FOR YOU recently. Good fun. And here's a link to a promo for the aborted Buffy animated series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnUvZP7-5LM |
